Robert Shields "Turning up" the Tuesday ball
But not before the traditonal singing of Auld Lang Syne and God save the Queen.
The ball heads for the Fire Station
And crowds follow on
Right down Park Road to the Junction with Park Avenue...
To the new housing development on the corner of Sturston road
Players stand on the wall looking down into the "hug"
As it breaks down Belper Road
Towards the Sturston Goal....
Steam rising from the Hug
Players climb into the bushes in hope that it breaks in their direction
Efforts continue to pull the ball out of the hug
But instead the ball breaks in the opposite direction
And back down Belper Road
And into Town.. behind the Doctors Surgery
Night time falls and players are confused with several breaks into the darkness! |
Richard "Tate" Slater eventually confused everyone by hiding it on his person and escaping the crowds, with help from Mick Wright, he scored the ball at Sturston for the up'ards at 8.40pm. |
Onto Compton and towards Sainsburys
